FAQ: Special Effects and Reference Characters

1. Special Effects Not Meeting Expectations

Typical Issue

When describing a specific effect through prompt text, the generated effect may not match what you expected.

Example:

Prompt specifies "the number '2999' appears with a countdown animation"

The generated number-scrolling effect shows random jumps, not following standard countdown logic

Solution

Use a reference video to define the effect:

Feed a video clip of the target effect into the model as reference material, so the model can precisely understand the effect's appearance and motion logic.

Comparison:

  • Before optimization: (number-scrolling effect has random jumps)
  • After optimization: (after adding the correct number-scrolling effect video, the result matches expectations)

Example:

The appearance of the number "2999" references video 1.

2. Too Many Reference Characters

Typical Issue

When the number of reference characters exceeds 4, model output stability decreases. The generated video may have the wrong number of characters (too few or too many) or duplicate characters.

Solution

The following workarounds are available now. A fundamental improvement will come with future model iterations.

#### Comparison

  • Before optimization: (8 input reference characters, output video has 9 people)
  • After optimization: (generate 2 images from the 8 characters, then use image-to-video)

#### Step-by-Step Generation Method

  • Generate images in batches: Group the characters so that each generated image contains no more than 4 characters. For example, 6 characters can be split into 2 groups of 3, generating one image per group.
  • Generate video from images: Use the batched images from step 1 as reference material, then generate the final video.

#### Example

Input 8 reference characters → Output video has 9 people

>

After optimization: generate 2 images from the 8 characters, then use image-to-video
